JOB SUMMARY:
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Manager provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for behavioral health services across assigned markets at PeopleOne Health.
This role is responsible for supervising and supporting Licensed Clinical Social Workers and behavioral health navigators (BHN), ensuring high-quality care coordination, effective integration with primary care teams, and appropriate utilization of behavioral health resources. The LCSW Manager partners closely with clinical leadership, care teams, and external behavioral health partners to support member access to mental health services, improve outcomes, and address social determinants of health.
This role oversees LCSW and BHN training and onboarding, supports interdisciplinary education efforts, and partners with clinical leadership to drive quality improvement, and cost-containment strategies. In addition, the LCSW Manager role oversees behavioral health workflows including screening processes, care coordination, community resource engagement, and referral pathways.
This is a working manager role that combines team leadership, program oversight, and direct involvement in behavioral health strategy, quality improvement, and member experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Hiring, onboarding, and training of behavioral health team members
- Scheduling and workload distribution to ensure efficient clinic and operational support
- Performance management, including annual evaluations and ongoing feedback
- Conducting regular 1:1 check-ins and coaching conversations to support staff development
- Approving PTO and managing attendance to maintain appropriate staffing levels
- Monitoring productivity and quality metrics to ensure high performance and accountability
- Ensuring role clarity, accountability, and alignment with organizational goals
- Providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee and support SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) implementation within the clinical care team
- Ensure effective care coordination for members accessing therapy, psychiatry, and other behavioral health services
- Guide appropriate referrals and navigation to mental health and substance use resources
- Monitor and support workflows related to behavioral health assessments, interventions, and follow-up
- Reinforce a supportive, non-judgmental, and engaging member experience across all touchpoints
PROGRAM OVERSIGHT & WORKFLOW STANDARDIZATION:
- Oversee daily operations of behavioral health workflows, ensuring consistent delivery of services across markets
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to LCSW/BHN to ensure consistent delivery of services
- Manage scheduling, workload distribution, and staffing to meet program and member needs
- Serve as escalation point for complex cases, workflow issues, and member concerns
TEAM LEADERSHIP & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
- Lead onboarding and ongoing training for LCSW/BHN, including systems, workflows, and coaching methodologies
- Develop, maintain, and update training materials, tools, and best practice resources
- Support interdisciplinary education efforts in collaboration with clinical and operational teams
- Ensure team competency in healthcare navigation, benefits education, and population health principles
INTERDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATION:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, including primary care, registered dieticians, health coaching, and pharmacy teams
- Participate in care team discussions to support member-centered treatment planning and integrated care delivery
QUALITY, COMPLIANCE & COST MANAGEMENT:
- Ensure adherence to confidentiality standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
- Oversee accurate and timely documentation within required systems to support program integrity and reporting
PROGRAM GROWTH & STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT:
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve workflows, member engagement, and LCSW/BHN effectiveness
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and operational optimization efforts
- Support the evolution of behavioral health, tools, and program structure to enhance scalability and outcomes
- Provide community education and outreach in alignment with interdisciplinary care team goals, including delivering health-related education, connecting individuals to community resources, and supporting population health initiatives.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage and support clinical teams

- Demonstrated clinical judgment and ability to manage complex behavioral health situations

- Knowledge of behavioral health care delivery, care coordination, and community resource navigation
- Familiarity with Social Determinants of Health and population health principles
- Proficiency with EHR systems and comfort navigating clinical and operational platforms
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS :
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program required
- Active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the applicable state(s) required
- Preferred, but not required, candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish or proficient in medical Spanish
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in behavioral health, care coordination, or related clinical settings
- 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or program management experience preferred
- Experience in integrated care, primary care settings, or value-based care strongly preferred
