JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinical Pharmacist Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing clinical pharmacy services across all markets. This position is responsible for leading pharmacy staff, optimizing medication management programs, and driving high-quality, cost-effective, evidence-based care to improve patient outcomes and overall population health.

This is a working manager role that combines clinical practice with leadership and program development responsibilities. In addition to maintaining an active presence in patient care, through medication therapy management (MTM), patient education, and collaborative drug therapy management, the Clinical Pharmacist Manager provides strategic direction, oversight, and standardization of clinical pharmacy services across all markets.

The Clinical Pharmacist Manager is responsible for developing and implementing scalable clinical programs, protocols, and training initiatives to ensure consistency, regulatory compliance, and excellence in care delivery. This role oversees pharmacy-related training and onboarding, supports interdisciplinary education efforts, and partners with clinical leadership to drive quality improvement, prescribing optimization, and cost-containment strategies.

Working closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and operational leaders, the Clinical Pharmacist Manager serves as both a clinical expert and a people leader, ensuring high-performing teams, strong engagement, and alignment with organizational goals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hiring, onboarding, and training of pharmacy team members
  • Scheduling and workload distribution to ensure efficient clinic and operational support
  • Performance management, including annual evaluations and ongoing feedback
  • Conducting regular 1:1 check-ins and coaching conversations to support staff development
  • Approving PTO and managing attendance to maintain appropriate staffing levels
  • Monitoring productivity and quality metrics to ensure high performance and accountability
  • Ensuring role clarity, accountability, and alignment with organizational goals
  • Providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide medication therapy management (MTM) for patients, including chronic disease support and high-risk populations
  • Participate in collaborative practice agreements to manage medications, labs, and refills
  • Deliver patient education and support shared decision-making
  • Serve as a clinical resource for medication-related questions

PROGRAM OVERSIGHT & WORKFLOW STANDARDIZATION:

  • Develop and standardize pharmacy workflows across markets
  • Create scalable processes for medication management, prior authorizations, and cost optimization
  • Ensure consistency in documentation, protocols, and care delivery
  • Maintain formularies and clinical guidelines

TEAM LEADERSHIP & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Establish and monitor productivity and quality benchmarks
  • Manage staffing models and workload distribution
  • Support onboarding and education across care teams
  • Report on pharmacy performance and engagement metrics

INTERDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATION:

  • Partner with providers to optimize prescribing practices and clinical efficiency
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, including registered dieticians, health coaching, and behavioral health teams
  • Support complex cases and medication-related decision-making
  • Provide education to providers and interdisciplinary teams

QUALITY, COMPLIANCE & COST MANAGEMENT:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and documentation standards
  • Monitor clinical quality metrics and medication outcomes
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities

PROGRAM GROWTH & STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT:

  • Identify opportunities to expand pharmacy services
  • Support new initiatives and value-based care strategies
  • Partner with leadership on program development and innovation

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Serve as an escalation point for pharmacy-related issues
  • May require occasional travel to health centers or client sites
  • May require flexibility in scheduling to accommodate program or member needs
  • Develop SOPs and training materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD)
  • Completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program, or higher, or equivalent experience in ambulatory care preferred (see below)
  • Current active pharmacist license in good standing in the state of Florida required, candidates with additional licenses may be preferred
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Preferred, but not required, candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish or proficient in medical Spanish

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of pharmacist experience or completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program
  • 1–2+ years of leadership, project ownership, or team oversight
  • Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Experience preferred

Salary Description
$113,206.00 - $169,809.00 per year
