JOB SUMMARY:
The Remote Medical Assistant provides administrative and clinical support to healthcare providers delivering virtual care. This role supports remote providers by preparing charts, managing electronic documentation, coordinating patient outreach, supporting telehealth workflows, and assisting with follow-up care activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Member Success
- Maintains a working knowledge of PeopleOne Health membership plans and how to access the needed information.
- Guides the member experience by providing information, education regarding options for care, and available resources
- Conducts member outreach via phone, portal messaging, and secure telehealth platforms
- Supports virtual visit readiness (consent, intake completion, technology readiness)
- Provides exceptional customer service while performing job functions, such as, answering inbound calls or online inquiries regarding services, claims, benefits, eligibility, provider searches, and other health-related questions and following up with members to ensure their needs are met.
- Utilizes technology, data, and other internal information to assist employees in obtaining the best and most cost-efficient health care for disease and condition management.
Remote Front Office Tasks
- Schedules, reschedules, and confirms virtual appointments
- Prepares patient charts in the EHR prior to visits (results, referrals, history)
- Manages inbound and outbound calls related to virtual visits
- Sends and tracks Release of Information requests
- Ensures patient portal activation and intake completion prior to visits.
- Troubleshoots basic technology issues for patients and providers
- Additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
Remote Clinical Support Tasks
- Pre-visit chart preparation and reconciliation
- Documentation support during or after virtual visits (as directed)
- Routing and closing telephone encounters per protocol
- Tracking lab, imaging, and diagnostic results and assigning to providers
- Coordinating follow-up care, referrals, and care team handoffs
- Supporting remote providers during virtual clinics (real-time messaging, documentation tasks)
- Monitoring task queues and provider worklists to ensure timely follow-up
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple virtual task queues, high attention to detail in electronic workflows
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Proficient with technology, including Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite, or related software
- Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and tact at all times
- Basic understanding of medical terminology, coding procedures, and clinical pharmacology
- Displays enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward coworkers and all members of the practice
- Understands and adheres to patient confidentiality
- Ability to constructively receive feedback from peers and leadership and direction from leadership
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people of varying ages, ethnicities, life experiences, etc.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & CLEARANCES
- Must be a graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program. Certification preferred. Graduates of a Licensed Practical Nursing program will also be considered.

- Criminal Clearance - Act 38
- FBI Clearance - Act 73
EXPERIENCE:
- 2-5 years prior experience in a medical office preferred
