JOB SUMMARY:

The Corporate Counsel is the second member of our legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel. This is a high-visibility role with significant autonomy. You'll handle a broad range of legal matters and work closely with business stakeholders across the company. This is an opportunity to grow with us as we scale, with a clear path to Senior Corporate Counsel and beyond.

This role is ideal for a self-starter looking to accelerate their career. You'll gain exposure to a breadth of legal work that would typically take years to accumulate at a large public company or law firm: commercial contracts, healthcare compliance, employment matters, corporate governance. We're committed to your professional growth and will invest in developing your skills as we build the legal function together.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, customer contracts (small and midmarket employers), and service agreements
  • Support lease negotiations for health center locations
  • Draft and review employment-related agreements, including offer letters, separation agreements, and contractor agreements
  • Provide day-to-day legal support to business teams, triaging issues and providing practical, business-oriented advice
  • Support compliance initiatives, including HIPAA privacy and security matters
  • Manage and coordinate with outside counsel on specialized matters as needed
  • Assist with corporate governance and general corporate matters
  • Contribute to building out legal processes and playbooks as the legal function grows
Requirements

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS :

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of legal experience, with a mix of law firm and/or in-house experience preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred, particularly with HIPAA privacy regulations (law firm healthcare practice, in-house at a health system, digital health company, or healthcare services company)
  • Experience with commercial contracts (vendor, customer, SaaS, or services agreements)
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, plus attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment
  • Business-minded approach—you understand that legal supports the mission, not the other way around
  • Comfortable working across multiple legal disciplines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment; you don't need to be an expert in everything, but you can't be someone who only wants to do one thing

Salary Description
$140,000 - 170,000 per year
