What we're looking for
Health in Her HUE is a tech-enabled platform that is focused on reducing the health disparities that Black women and women of color face. We are seeking a lead software engineer to help with the next phase of growth for the platform. You will work cross functionally to manage the logistics and details of various technical projects on behalf of the company.
Responsibilities
Lead the team in building, maintaining and debugging the platform while optimizing the tech stack
Help implement a robust QA testing infrastructure
Conduct root cause analysis for bugs and issues
Manage technical documentation, diagrams, flowcharts and team contributions to GitHub library
Optimize third party API integrations for the platform
Contribute to design efforts and support user research
Work closely with key internal stakeholders to manage business requirements
Plan training sessions and identify learning and development opportunities for the tech team
Establish necessary organizational processes, policies and procedures including SLAs
Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and productivity
Qualifications
Commitment to advancing health equity for the women that Health in Her HUE serves
Understand the lived experiences of Black women and women of color
Previous experience as a Software Engineer (3-5 years)
Fluent with Ruby on Rails, API Integrations, Heroku/AWS
Knowledge of RPA, NPL, ML and AI technologies
Experience working in an Agile environment
Experience with professional web development
Healthcare experience is a plus
Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
Strong desire to play a lead role and help develop other tech team members
Organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to take initiative with a strong orientation for meeting deadlines
Stellar verbal and written communication skills
Strong leadership and problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
Ability to take initiative and lead teams effectively
Ability to organize and execute projects from start to completion
Experience with collaborative team applications - Microsoft Teams, Asana, Notion, etc.

Health In Her HUE (HIHH) is a digital health platform intentionally designed to meet the healthcare needs of Black women and women of color (WOC). It creates a seamless experience for Black women and WOC to find and connect with culturally sensitive healthcare providers, culturally tailored health content, and community support. Health In Her HUE is a solution that will fill a much needed gap in the market for women who have been historically and contemporarily underserved and marginalized by the healthcare system.
