The Cayaba Care care model focuses on integration not replacement of patients’ primary Obstetric provider and reducing any barriers to the patient receiving the recommended care.

About the Job

Cayaba is seeking a Medical Front Desk, Patient Care Coordinator & Outreach Specialist. The ideal candidate will be passionate about our mission to serve low-income families and building innovative solutions to improve maternity/newborn outcomes. The candidate will also be passionate about customer experience and taking time to solve patient needs. The candidate will have experience performing medical office front desk duties, but willing to learn how to support patients and families in the community.

Job Description

  • Function at the highest level of customer service, compassion, and professionalism to patients, families, co-workers at all times.
  • Reach out to patients who have have been referred to Cayaba Care by phone, text, or email
  • Explain our program to eligible members and assist them with enrollment
  • Answering incoming phone calls in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Complete patient registration and creating of the medical record in the EMR
  • Complete check-in and check-out processes
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Confirmation of daily appointments, initial verification of insurance, and ensure consents/other required information collected before visit
  • Review no-show and at-risk patient reports and call these patients to schedule appointments
  • Collect co-payments, coinsurance and other payments as needed
  • Assist patients with completing COMPASS applications and applying for insurance
  • Update CRM tools and other databases
  • Obtain prior authorizations as needed
  • Coordinate outbound patient referrals
  • Open or close the clinic on assigned days
  • Assist with charge entry, claim submissions and other billing duties as required
  • Triage calls appropriately to other members of the Cayaba Care team
  • Provide clerical and secretarial support
  • Other tasks as needed

Required Credentials

  • 2 years of EMR experience (required)
  • 2 years of Medical or dental office front-desk experience (required)

Preferred Credentials

  • OB-GYN experience a plus
  • Certified Medical Assistant/Medical Terminology training a plus

Job Type: Full-time

On-Site: Monday through Friday and 1 Saturday a month (Clinic Hours are 8am - 6pm. Would need to be flexible in hours at the clinic based on need)
